What motivation were you affected by to choose this specialty as your field of interest?
Magnification enhance visualization and in dental field, and provide better control and precision in dental treatments. Seeing more can help clinicians to generate better outcomes and mastering even in highly complex cases. Microscope has become The standard of care in Endodontics and mission of “microscopic dental club” spread the microscopic concept to all disciplines. This tool (microscope) will provide the clinician a greater degree of control in a range of delicate procedural steps. Nowadays, many dentist are seeking guidance on how to integrate microscopy into their daily practice.
Esthetic dentists offer and can provide self-confidence, joy, and even hope for their patients. What do You consider to be the most important factor from these?
The moment you see a hidden detail reveal a visible success, this is the moments we work for. It is all about a precision in aesthetic dentistry. Minimal invasive preparation with maximum aesthetic outcomes with long durability and satisfaction of clinicians and patients as well. In microscopic concept we are improving patients lives and everything become more predictable and simple. see better, do better and rise your professional skills to highest level of dentistry. We are using microscope in restorative and prosthodontics for prevention and diagnosis, better bacterial plaque control, caries removal and precise restorations. Preparation control in minimal invasive concept. Rubber dam applications in anterior and posterior areas. finishing and polishing Under microscope for long term durability. Microscopic concept Provide excellence in operative and prosthetic dentistry with regard to communication with patients.
How would You sum up the benefits of operational microscope in dentistry?
Microscope have many major benefits, the most important one is that magnification improve patients live. Under magnification we work ergonomically correct in upright working position which is health promoting for the dentist over the long time, with less neck and back pain. Microscopic dentistry broaden clinical scope and increase efficiency. Surgical microscope add crucial benefits to specific procedural steps in every major dental application. Microsurgical approach improves tissue preservation and handling while using specific flap design to access the defects. Optimize flap mobility in order to achieve primarily closure or to cover mucosal recession. with microscope we can document our cases and increase patients involvement. Better we see the more precis our data for the diagnostic result will be.
In your opinion what time in the future could microscope assisted restorative treatments get into everyday dental practise?
With microscope we doing more and broaden our clinical treatments such as instruments removal, re-treatments, treatment of calcified canals, wee can observe cracks and fractures. Better and minimal invasive soft tissue management, tunnel preparation in gingival recession with better visualisation. Tooth preservation and minimal invasive preparation with better control. Location of caries in difficult
areas. In is fact, when you see more you treat more and better. The main goal is prevention and very precise diagnosis with bacterial plaque control. Microscope in restorative dentistry enhance preparation control, and avoid tooth wear in conservative manner.
Microscope is applied at so many fields of dentistry, that it is reasonable to ask, whether there is a situation when it is not adviced or not possible to use dental microscope?
In my daily practice all my procedures under microsope, although in major surgery we work in macroscopic field, and combine the microscope in flap design, sutures, or when we close to anatomical structure. Since 1921 surgical microscope has been crucial for the advancement of several surgical fields as brain tumours surgery, vascular neurosurgery, cataract or retinal surgery. In dental visualisation we are at an earlier stage of this journey, and many surgeons have difficulties to operate under microscope because of small field of view.
Are alternative special equipments needed for the microscopic work or could traditional instruments be maintained by the dentist if he or she just switches to the use of microscope?
In restorative dentistry under the microscope requires modified instruments to take full advantages of this treatment modality. Micro-burs, micro-mirrors, and flexible mirrors are available for this type of high precision clinical work. In microscopic dentistry, mirrors play key role in visualisation and in documentation. Even the highest light intensity from the illumination apparatus worthless if the mirror can’t reflect enough light. In surgical field we work under "microsurgical concept” that consist of three elements, magnification, illumination, and instrumentation. Proper instrumentation is fundamental important for microsurgical intervention. The instruments should be approximately 18 cm long and coloured with coating surface. The weight of each instrument should not exceed 15 g to 20 g in order to avoid hand and arm muscle fatigue. In order to prevent damage. Micro- instruments are stored in a sterile container or tray.
What differeces should the dental assistant be prepared to if microscope assisted treatment enters the scene?
There is no doubt by using microscope the operative team is confronted with completely new environment and the surgeon and assistants first have to adjust to the changes situation. Without appropriate training microscopic dentistry and surgery can not be performed with ease un stress-free environment. Before starting with the clinical work on the patients, the clinician should become familiar with the impaired manoeuvrability of microscope. With new requirement for hand-eye coordination and initial difficulties, which can arise from the task-sharing condition between surgeon and clinical assistant.
What gives You the greates joy in your daily medicinal work?
Definitely saving patients teeth from extractions, handling with highly complex cases without doubt. In aesthetic dentistry focus on small detail that emphasis aesthetic outcomes and satisfaction of final results. Working in upright position in order to minimize overload and eliminate incorrect posture. And most important we improve patients live, seeing more, doing better, focused on prevention and good diagnosis under magnification, bacterial plaque control. Under magnification I enjoy work under rubber dam isolation, everything become visible under control with high level of precision. We can involve the patients and give him excellence in operative and prosthetic dentistry.
