Florin Lazarescu has been the ESCD president for over 3 year. He tried to bring the organization to a whole new level; he tries to improve the relationship with the European media, to lead partnerships and to bring to ESCD the most wanted speakers (and greatest events and parties as well).

How would you describe yourself?
I ‘m a passionate dentist, a hard working person, a tough manager and an enthusiastic project manager. I do have a demonic and alert working rhythm and I like to think that I put the right person in the right place, offering new challeges for each one of them. I like to bring a smile to others – my family, my friends, the people I work with, and of course to my patients. I’m a dentist, based in Bucharest, Romania.
How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Passionate, hardworking, skillful.
Which is your passion?
My work is my passion. Whatever I do, I do with passion. I spent many hours on courses and postgraduate programs, I specialized in esthetic dentistry.
Why did you become a dentist?
I’ve become a dentist- you will laugh – because I admired one strange doctor who had this job when i was just a boy.. The rest is history…
How did ESCD influence your career?
It improved my communication capabilities and it helped to document and to improve the techniques I am using day by day at the clinic.Especially that I told you before: I love life so… let’s all have fun and enjoy this time whole we are still here… Live with no regrets! And do not look back. Only have a great life…
How and for what reason was the Aesthetic Society was established in Romania?
Inspired by some of the most influential people in dentistry, together with a group of friends and university professors, we decided to bring the highest standards in dental education to my home country; this is how the Society of Esthetic Dentistry in Romania and the International Congress of Esthetic Dentistry were founded.
What are the results that makes your proud since your election?
For 15 years we have been bringing together dental practitioners, the world’s top speakers, and many companies from the dental industry to share experience, knowledge, and innovation. In 2015 I was elected president of the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry, it is a great honor and privilege for me to lead this international organization. It is also a great challenge, but I love it, and as someone once said: “Don’t tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the Moon.”
If you were to be anywhere in the world where would you like to be right now?
On a boat, sailing.
What is your dream?
To have a 6 months vacation every year. I travel a lot, getting to know different countries and cultures. I see my children grow and I hope I can teach them to enjoy life as much as I do.
