Digital Protocol in Minimally Invasive Dentistry
Dental medicine and fixed prosthodontics are changing their protocols. The digital revolution is making more and more inroads into everyday dental practice. The first steps toward digital workflow have been known for decades. However, a fully digital protocol was not possible until we had digital scanners accurate enough for oral rehabilitations. In addition to scanners, we needed new high-precision 3D printers, milling equipment and materials. A few years ago, we could not complete bridges with large spans without compromise or manual layering techniques. Today, we have scientific proof that digital scanners are close to analog impressions in terms of accuracy. New materials have exceptional esthetic and mechanical properties, and we can use them for full arch restorations without layering. With some limitations, we can move to a fully digital workflow today. Most dentists are familiar with some analog protocols and should be able to use them for digital dentistry. Protocols are very important for predictive therapy.
The presentation will highlight digital protocol in one complex clinical case of full mouth rehabilitation.
Prof. Dr. Mutlu Özcan
Dental Materials in Reconstructive Dentistry: Subtractive or Additive?
With the advances in technological developments and introduction of subtractive and additive manufacturing methods, new materials are being introduced for tooth-, implant- and mucosa-borne reconstructions along with bone substitutes. While developments in the field of biomaterials influence almost all disciplines of dentistry, clinicians should be able to master the knowledge of the material types, their fundamental physical and chemical properties, as well as their biocompatibility. In this lecture, an overview will be given on the current clinical possibilities, limitations and future perspectives with new materials in dentistry with a focus on metals, polymers, hybrids and ceramics.
Dr. Andrea Franzo
The Resto-Prosthetic Dilemma: How Adhesion Changed Everything
Adhesive aesthetic materials and techniques play a key role in modern dentistry, moving the boundaries between conservative and prosthetic dentistry. Nowadays we can restore aesthetic and function both in posterior and anterior area, with direct or indirect techniques, preserving the remain tooth structure and with a lot of time saving. The aim of this presentation is to point out various aspects of clinical evidence-based protocols to solve a lot of clinical situations in a predictable way.
Dr. Giedré Kobs
Treating Whole Human Being via Occlusion
The biggest challenge in dentistry is to approach complex cases. How to treat the whole human being not only single teeth via occlusion? Can we as a dentist have an influence on teeth grinding and clenching forces? For a dentist there is nothing more valuable than long time practice in treating severe TMD patients. Treating pain every day gives you the answer. It gives you the right direction of the treatment. When you know the right direction, you always come successfully out of the pain. And yes -there is a protocol. In this lecture I will share with you my 24 years of experience in seeing and treating more than 18.000 patients.
Dr. Maciek Czerwinski
Milestones in Restorative Treatment
In this lecture you will learn about isolation strategies:
– The role of rubber dam and Teflon tape for effective isolation
– Preparation strategies and preparation to isolation
– Shape Factor and gingivectomy
– Matrix selection System and TeflonFloss technique.
Mr. Daniele Rondoni
Restoration Longevity Is Crucial Criteria for Our Treatment Choice?
The first part it will analyze the difference and the property of the new generation materials, showing final results and longevity of the clinical case. Important aspect is to exame in-depht the influencing factors that are important to select the ideal material according to the individual patience needs. Moreover the speaker will show you a new approach that will help you in a very easy way to create predictable aesthetics in producing dental restorations with ideal indirect treatments.
Additionally it will be show how we can improve our skills and efficiency with a ideal digital work flow.
Dr. Salem Jusic
Highly Esthetic Composite Restorations of Anterior Teeth
Lecture topics:
– Arhitecture of smile (morfology pilars of anterior teeth)
– Preparation (tips for invisible restorations)
– Instruments and matrices
– How to choose right composite
– Composite layering (mono, duo, polyshade)
– Finishing and polishing (tips and tricks for high gloss)
Dr. Jordi Manauta
Color and Shape, the Secrets for Perfect Anterior Composites. The Layers 2 and Styleitaliano Method
It’s often believed that achieving highly aesthetic dental restorations requires sophisticated and complex techniques that only a select few exceptionally gifted individuals can master. However, I’m here to tell you that achieving perfect restorations with a high success rate is indeed possible. Our approach emphasizes simplicity and logic in performing rational color matching, ensuring exact reproduction of the chosen color and the ability to learn from any errors. Nowadays, selecting the right materials, utilizing proper layering techniques, and managing morphology is essential for mimicking even the slightest nuances of our patients’ teeth, all while avoiding unnecessary challenges or what I like to call, suffering dentistry. We have a treasure trove of tips and tricks that we’ve accumulated over 27 years of experience that we’re eager to share with you.
Dr. Marco Maiolino
Cracking the “Crack” Code
Cracks are one of the most challenging and controversial topics in dentistry. Difference of opinions and treatments make this topic unclear to the average clinician. During the lecture the speaker will highlight all the mechanics behind crack, how to avoid them in the real scenario and his strategies to deal with them in a successful way.
Dr. Arthur Volker
Injection Molding and Matrixing Strategies for Direct Anterior Composite
The purpose of a matrix is to function as a shape-former and facilitate the placement of materials such as amalgam or composite resin. There are many options available in terms of material selection and scope. This course will discuss various matrixing options as applied to anterior or facial composite restorations. Specifically, metal and plastic matrices will be discussed, as well as sectional and “full-contour” ones.
Objectives:
1. Gain familiarity with aspects of aesthetic determinants
2. Discuss composite options as well as determinants for matrix selection in the
anterior dentition
3. Systematize preparation protocols such as isolation and particle abrasion for
carious and non-carious restorations
4. Understand the protocol for direct composite injection molding.

Check Out Our Videos of Past Years’ Events
Our two-decade history is worth looking back. What started as an idea at an exhibition 22 years ago has now become a defining dental event. But its success has also required the contribution of many colleagues and supporters. They are also remembered in these few videos – which shows our progress – and allow you to rewind the clock to the beginnings.
